The essence of being a Chöd practitioner isn't just about holding a damaru and kangling. It’s about having a point of acceptance and rejection in practice. Without this, one cannot truly be considered a Chöd practitioner.

- Chödpa Kunzang Dorjee

Chödpa Kunzang Dorjee continues the Chöd tradition while also teaching these rare practices to students from all over the world.

Chöd

Chöd means ‘to cut.’ It is a practice of cutting through the roots of suffering and mental afflictions. Intertwined with Tibetan Buddhist practices of death and dying, Chöd is practiced at funerals, as preparation for death, and as a courageous way of life.

The core practice involves visualizations of offering the body and cutting the four māras, so that the practitioner can rest naturally in the fundamental nature of the mind.
