Khandro Labdrön Shije Chöd Institute

In 2017, Chödpa Kunzang Dorjee founded the Khandro Labdrön Shije Chöd Institute in Boudha, Nepal. The name of the Institute was auspiciously conferred by Lama Choedak Rinpoche. That year, he also hosted a three-month residential retreat in Sankhu, Nepal, with students from India, Nepal, the USA, Sweden, and Russia. Whenever he is not traveling, he stays with his family at the Institute, where he teaches Buddhism, Chöd practice, and Tibetan Yoga.

In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which prevented many students from traveling, Chödpa Kunzang Dorjee adopted remote teaching methods, enabling students, old and new, from around the world to access Chöd teachings.

Traditionally in Tibet, before someone can practice Chöd, it is compulsory to complete the ngöndro, or preliminary practices. In keeping with the times and following the advice of his Lamas, Chödpa Kunzang Dorjee does not require his students to complete ngöndro before beginning Chöd practice with him. He finds it beneficial but not compulsory to do before starting Chöd practice.
